Provided is a cap for a linear guide device, which serves as a cap for covering a counterbore part of an attachment hole provided in a guide rail housing the head of a bolt, and which, when attached, ensures that no recess or protrusion exists on the upper surface of the guide rail. Also provided is a linear guide device. This cap (5) for a linear guide device is equipped with: a receiving part (52) that receives a driving tool (72); a fitting part (54) that extends from the receiving part (52) and has an outer diameter so as to obtain an interference fit with respect to the counterbore part (41), and that is press-fitted into the counterbore part (41); a foreign material holding groove (53) that is formed in the outer circumference of the fitting part (54) and holds foreign material (73) generated from the fitting part (54) when the fitting part is driven into the counterbore part (41); and a gas discharge groove (55) that extends from the foreign material holding groove (53) to the interior of the counterbore part (41) at the outer circumference of the fitting part (54) when the fitting part (54) has been press-fitted into the counterbore part (41), and that enables gas in the interior of the counterbore part (41) to be discharged toward the foreign material holding groove (53). |
