A handcart that performs inverted pendulum control and can more easily ride over bumps. In a first control mode, the posture of a main body section (10) is held constant as a result of always performing inverted pendulum control. When a user operates a switching switch, the handcart changes to a second control mode in which an offset torque is added and the amount of torque applied to a wheel drive unit (26) increases. As a result the handcart travels at a higher speed than normal and can easily ride over bumps that are difficult to ride over during normal inverted pendulum control. |
