Provided is a dielectric porcelain composition which exhibits a small temperature-dependent change in dielectric constant in a temperature range from 250 to 450˚C, which is a higher temperature range when compared with 300˚C. The dielectric porcelain composition according to the present invention can be used as a dielectric porcelain (12) for a single layer ceramic capacitor (10). The dielectric porcelain composition according to the present invention contains, as the main component, a perovskite-type compound containing Na, Nb, Sn and O and also containing Ti and/or Zr, wherein the content of Ti (y (part by mole)) and the content of Zr (z (part by mole)) have a relationship expressed by the formula: 0.96≤y+z≤1.00 wherein the content of Sn is 1 part by mole, the content of Na (w (part by mole)) is 1.00 to 1.10 inclusive wherein the content of Nb is 1 part by mole, and the ratio (x) of the amount of Sn relative to the total amount of Sn and Nb, which is expressed by the formula: x = Sn/(Sn+Nb), is 0.05 to 0.20 inclusive.
