摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method by which a heat-resistant graphite member with improved heat transfer characteristics etc. can be obtained by controlling the surface characteristics of a carbide film covering a graphite base material.SOLUTION: The production method of a heat-resistant graphite member according to the present invention comprises: an applying step of applying a slurry containing carbide particles onto the surface of a graphite base material thereby forming a coating film; a polishing step of polishing the surface of a formed film obtained by drying the coating film to make the surface roughness or surface waviness of the formed film smaller than before the formed film is polished; and a sintering step of sintering the polished formed film to make a sintered film. The polishing step may be replaced by an adhesion step of adhering semi-solidified liquid drops of the slurry to the surface of the formed film to make at least the surface roughness of the formed film larger than before the adhesion step is applied. Carrying out the polishing step provides a heat-resistant graphite member covered with a smooth sintered film with a smaller surface roughness. Carrying out the adhesion step provides a heat-resistant graphite member covered with a matte sintered film.
