HID LAMP ACOUSTIC RESONANCE RESTRAINING METHOD AND BALLAST

An HID lamp acoustic resonance restraining method and a ballast. The method comprises: detecting whether acoustic resonance is generated; and when the acoustic resonance is generated, changing a frequency of a frequency modulation current provided by a ballast, so as to achieve the objective of restraining the acoustic resonance. The ballast comprises an acoustic resonance eliminating module. Because the acoustic resonance eliminating module is added, the acoustic resonance is restrained to a greatest possibility, and the best stability of a discharge arc is ensured. The ballast can make lamp tubes of various types and different powers stably work.
