According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method for operating an electronic device including a touch screen. The provided method comprises the processes of: displaying an image received through an image sensor; detecting a first touch event with regard to a first area of the image; displaying a user interface object displaying an automatic focusing screen with regard to a first area, and a focusing level of a lens of the image sensor; detecting a second touch event with regard to the user interface object; and adjusting the focusing level of the lens of the image sensor with regard to the first area by corresponding to the location of the user interface object in accordance with the second touch event.
