A method for charging a secondary battery (10) using, as a positive electrode material, a positive electrode active material consisting of a solid solution material has: a first charging step of charging the secondary battery to a first predetermined voltage; and an intermittent charging step of, after the first charging step, combining a battery voltage relaxation step of bringing the secondary battery into an unloaded condition under which current is not conducted through the secondary battery and a constant current charging step of charging the secondary battery at a constant current. In the first charging step, charging is performed at a constant current. In the constant current charging step of the intermittent charging step, charging is performed by setting the first predetermined voltage as an upper limit voltage. |
