PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge mechanism capable of easily changing a maximum rotation angle while suppressing an increase in the number of components.SOLUTION: A hinge mechanism 1 supports a document cover 32 to freely open/close with respect to a document reading unit 40. The hinge mechanism 1 includes a first support member 3 and a second support member 5. The first support member 3 is slidably mounted to the document cover 32, and supports the document cover 32. The second support member 5 is mounted to the document reading unit 40, and rotatably supports the first support member 3. The second support member 5 supports the first support member 3 so that the first support member 3 can move according to a slide of the first support member 3. A rotation of the first support member 3 is regulated corresponding to a relative position of the first support member 3 to the second support member 5.
