<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling auxiliary data of video signals capable of easily changing settings without requiring a device which manages the whole system.SOLUTION: A device for controlling auxiliary data of video signals comprises an encoder which superimposes arbitrary information on a video signal on the basis of setting information, and a decoder which receives a video signal from the encoder via communication means and reads arbitrary information from the video signal on the basis of the setting information. The encoder comprises superimposition means for superimposing the arbitrary information on the video signal in accordance with the setting information, and superimposition control means for setting the setting information in the superimposition means when the data from input means is a setting command for setting the setting information, and for setting data in the superimposition means when the data from the input means is superimposition information. The decoder comprises reading means for reading the superimposed information to an input video signal, and read control means for setting the read setting information in the reading means when the read information is a setting command, and for outputting the read information when the read information is the superimposed information.</p> |
