This flow rate detection apparatus is provided with: an irradiation means (120) that radiates measuring light to a flow channel (250), and a fluid (200) flowing in the flow channel; a light receiving means (130) that receives interference light of the measuring light scattered due to the flow channel, and the measuring light scattered due to the fluid; an acquiring means (160) that acquires specified values of information relating to the speed of the fluid; determining means (150, 160) that determine, on the basis of the specified values, a frequency range to be used with respect to signals indicating the interference light; and an output means (150), which calculates the frequency range to be used with respect to the signals indicating the interference light, and which outputs the information relating to the speed of the fluid. Consequently, the calculation range is optimized, and the speed of the fluid can be detected at a high accuracy. |
