The element 100 which may be of the electromechanical or electronic type is connected to the circuit 101 thus enabling the signals coming from the element to be shaped. The circuit 102 is responsible for generating and defining a timebase. The timebase is obtained by variable timing arrangements involving in particular the capacitors 121 and 122. The capacitor 121 has one charging time constant and two discharge time constants. The circuit 103 is a voltage threshold device controlled by the signal coming from the capacitor 122 in order to produce an output signal which generates the ignition spark. At all times the transistor 149 supplies a collector current proportional to the voltage across the terminals of the capacitor 121 . The resistance of the resistor 151 can be made a function of the vacuum in the induction manifold. On completion of the discharge of the capacitor 122 the transistor 141 goes into saturation, thus discharging the capacitor 155 across the resistor 157 and blocking the transistors 156, 158 and 159 so that the primary coil current is cut off. The duration of the spark corresponds to the time of discharge of the capacitor 155 and can decrease with rising speed. |
