A rotary pump comprising a flexible tube 4, Fig. 1, supported on an inner supporting face 5 of a casing 1 made, e. g., of PVC and closed by a plastics detachable cover-plate (not shown) to permit cleaning of the pump parts, includes a plurality of rollers 3, each mounted without a central bearing and frictionally engaging a common driving member comprising a driving ring 9 and a driving wheel 8 with an O-ring (not shown) therebetween. Each roller comprises a lower part engagable with a rolling surface 6 of the casing and a slightly larger diameter upper part engaging the tube. The supporting face 5 includes three adjacent sections 5a, 5b, 5c each extending over an angle of 60‹ with the middle section 5b lying on a cylinder coaxial with the rolling face 6 and the outer sections 5a, 5c lying on a cylinder having an axis A offset with respect to the rolling face 6, so that the rollers 3 gradually approach the tube 4, fully compress it and then gradually recede from it. A pressure ring 7 having radial slots 7a is disposed between the upper parts of the rollers to produce a recoil movement in the sections 5a, 5c thus counteracting a tendency of the tube to wander. The rollers 3, and rings 7, 9 are made of a relatively hard synthetic material such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark "Delrin". |
