<p>This invention provides: an intraocular lens that has a novel structure whereby, while still providing required optical properties, the maximum thickness of an optical part can be reduced, making it easy to bend the intraocular lens when inserting same into an eye; and a novel method for manufacturing an intraocular lens. Said method for manufacturing an intraocular lens, said intraocular lens having a disc-shaped optical part (12) made from a bendable soft material, is characterized in that an effective diameter for the front surface of the optical part and an effective diameter for the rear surface of the optical part are set by determining the effective diameter for the rear surface of the optical part from an effective diameter for the front surface of the optical part that is set in advance on the basis of paths taken by incident light rays entering the optical part (12) from the front surface (16) thereof, yielding an optical part (12) that is shaped such that the effective diameter of the rear surface thereof is smaller than the effective diameter of the front surface thereof.</p> |
