1,208,977. Conveying tobacco. HAUNIWERKE KORBER & CO. K.G. 19 March, 1968 [22 July, 1967], No. 13196/68. Headings B8A and B8S. Tobacco 13 is conveyed rightwards in the vibrating trough 7 and falls through aperture 11 into hopper 12, the fall of the tobacco being controlled by belt 1. Belt 1 is fixed at B to trough 7 and moves as a unit, being mounted on the end of piston 9 of fluid cylinder 8. When the aperture 11 is to be closed fluid cylinder 8 is energized to move belt 1 to the right. Since the belt is fixed at B to trough 7 the belt partakes of two movements a rightward movement and a circular movement about the rollers 2 and 3. The movement to the right of the belt 1 is quicker than the movement of the tabacco 13 so that the belt closes the aperture before the tobacco arrives at the end 16 of the aperture. In this way the position 16 of the trough is kept free from tobacco. The vibrating trough may be replaced by a feed duct. |
