PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the rotation frequency of a dewatering tub at low cost by using an acceleration sensor for detecting the vibrations of the dewatering tub.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a dewatering tub 5 opened upward; a housing 1 including a side wall part erected so as to surround the dewatering tub 5; a motor 9 for rotationally driving the dewatering tub 5; an acceleration sensor 10 for outputting a detection signal including information on the vibrations of the dewatering tub 5; and a control device for controlling the dewatering tub 5. The control device is made to determine the rotation state of the dewatering tub 5 on the basis of the information acquired from the acceleration sensor 10 on the vibrations of the dewatering tub 5, and can thereby calculate the rotation frequency of the dewatering tub 5 without using rotor position detection means for detecting the rotor position of the motor and without using rotation frequency detection means for detecting the rotation frequency of the motor according to an output signal from the rotor position detection means. |
