A self-propelled type electronic device is provided with: a housing (2) that can travel on a travel surface; a drive unit (21) that causes the housing (2) to travel; a travel sensor (14) that senses a situation over the travel surface and outputs a signal; and a control unit (11) that controls the drive unit (21) on the basis of the output from the travel sensor (14). The control unit (11) controls the drive unit (21) to stop driving upon determining that there has been no change in the signal output from the travel sensor (14) over a predetermined travel distance or in a predetermined period of travel of the housing (2). |
