<p>The invention relates to a mounting for a firearm, especially of a.50 (12.7 mm) calibre, where said mounting is fitted inside the cockpit of a helicopter with the purpose of providing support for the gunner and thus allowing high-precision shooting to be carried out at a considerable distance without risking the integrity of the aircraft or the crew. To this end, the mounting according to the invention consists of a vertical support or frame which, in the lower part thereof, is directly coupled to a base which is pre-fitted on the floor of the aircraft and is fixed by a plurality of screws or other fixing means which ensures that neither the mounting nor the firearm moves when a shot is fired. The mounting is characterised in that it comprises a recoil energy absorption system comprising an upper support and a spring which absorbs the energy generated by firing the weapon.</p> |
