<p>A long gauge length carbon fiber strain sensing device, comprising two long gauge length carbon fiber strain sensing elements (1, 2) having the same geometric size, three spacer membranes (3, 4, 5), a measurement connector (6), two anchor segments (7, 8), and two parallel connectors (9, 10). One end of each of the long gauge length carbon fiber strain sensing elements (1, 2) is connected to the parallel connectors (9, 10), respectively, via an electrode, and the other end thereof is connected in series to the measurement connector (6) via a lead wire. The two long gauge length carbon fiber strain sensing elements (1, 2) have the same strain sensitivity coefficient and the same heat sensitivity coefficient. The long gauge length carbon fiber strain sensing elements (1, 2) may consist of a plurality of parallel sealed sensing core wires, and can calculate the deformation of the direction of the fiber normal on the basis of geometrical relationships within a sealing layer. The long gauge length carbon fiber strain sensing device is able to carry out sensing of structural micro-strains over a broad range throughout long periods of unstable temperatures and under humid conditions, so as to meet requirements for continuous testing and monitoring of stress (strain) in civil engineering structures.</p> |
