This technology pertains to an imaging device, method and program which are capable of more appropriate zoom control. An angular velocity sensor detects the angular velocity of the movement of an imaging device. On the basis of the angular velocity at a plurality of different times, an operation determination unit determines a user operation state identified by the change over time in the angular velocity. A zoom control unit controls zoom on the basis of the user operation state. By using the angular velocity at a plurality of times in this manner, it is possible to identify the operation state in a more detailed manner, and it is possible to more appropriately control the zoom according to the user operation state. This technology can be applied to a digital camera or a multi-functional portable telephone receiver. |
