Provided is an input device whereby, in inputting text characters or other information with an input body such as a pen, it is possible, even when sensing unintended information in the input, to determine that said information is unnecessary, and to accurately input information. This input device comprises a sheet-shaped light waveguide (W), wherein a plurality of wire cores (2) are positioned and formed in a lattice upon the surface of a sheet-shaped under-cladding layer (1), and an over-cladding layer (3) is formed in a sheet shape which covers these cores (2). A program is embedded in a CPU which controls the input device. With a surface portion of the over-cladding layer (3) corresponding to a portion of the lattice-shaped cores (2) as an input region, and in sensing pressure during contiguous movement of a leading end input part of an input body in the input region at a location removed from the location of the leading end input part by a gap greater than or equal to 4% of the number of cores in the vertical direction or the horizontal direction which configure the lattice shape, the said program recognizes that the pressure at the removed location is unnecessary information. |
