PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new utility pole installation method in which a pole construction hole for erecting a utility pole and a ground hole for embedding a grounding electrode are efficiently formed to greatly improve workability for installing the utility pole, and effective reduction in a ground resistance value is achieved.SOLUTION: A utility pole installation method includes: an excavation step for simultaneously excavating a pole construction hole 121 which is formed in a foundation from a ground surface 101 by excavation means 30 and used for embedding a lower end part of a utility pole and a ground hole 123 which is formed on the lower side of the pole construction hole from the lower surface center of the pole construction hole and used for arranging a grounding electrode having a smaller diameter than the pole construction hole; a grounding electrode arranging step for arranging the grounding electrode in the ground hole; and a pole construction step for embedding the lower end part of the utility pole in the pole construction hole.
