METHOD FOR EVALUATING VOICE RECOGNITION RESULT ABOUT VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM, COMPUTER AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting a proper error rate in order to evaluate recognition performance of a voice recognition system.SOLUTION: A technique for evaluating a voice recognition result includes the steps of: taking out texts of the voice recognition result for every sentence; calculating an error rate by notation ('notation error rate' hereinafter) and an error rate by pronunciation ('pronunciation error rate' hereinafter), respectively for every taken out sentence; adopting the notation error rate as the error rate according to a fact that difference between a value after applying a predetermined coefficient to the calculated notation error rate and a value after applying the predetermined coefficient to the calculated pronunciation error rate is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold; on the other hand, adopting the pronunciation error rate as the error rate according to a fact that the difference is larger than the predetermined threshold; and calculating an evaluation result for all of the texts of the voice recognition result by combining the adopted error rates about the respective sentences.
