<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side bumper for a vehicle in which a comparatively small number of members are required for structuring the side bumper, and bolt nuts need to be fastened at a comparatively small number of places, which can be easily set in arbitrary length along a longitudinal direction of a vehicle body, which is light in overall weight, less likely to reduce fuel efficiency, and has high safety.SOLUTION: A side bumper 1 for a vehicle includes: multiple stays 2 vertically suspending from a side surface of a vehicle body B; and a horizontal bumper member 9 composed of multiple aluminum alloy hollow extrusion materials individually fixed to the stays 2, and provided along a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body B. The bumper member 9 has a cross-sectional shape including: an inside surface 11 for coming in contact with an outside surface 6 of the stay 2; a recessed groove 13 having a wide bottom opening at the inside surface 11 so that a bolt head 17 cannot be pulled out in an axial direction and can slide along the longitudinal direction; and an outside bending surface R connected to upper and lower ends of the inside surface 11, and protruding outside of the vehicle body B. A bolt 16 of which the bolt head 17 is inserted into the recessed groove 13 having a wide bottom is made to penetrate a through hole 8 of the stay 2, and a nut 18 is threadably connected to a male screw part on a center side of the vehicle body.</p> |
