摘要 Provided is a method for producing a high-strength stainless steel pipe which exhibits excellent toughness. This method for producing a high-strength stainless steel pipe which exhibits excellent toughness involves making a steel pipe of prescribed dimensions from a steel material having a component composition comprising, in mass%, 0.005-0.05% of C, 0.05-1.0% of Si, 0.2-1.8% of Mn, 0.03% or less of P, 0.005% or less of S, 14-20% of Cr, 1.5-10% of Ni, 1-5% of Mo, 0.5% or less of V, 0.15% or less of N, 0.01% or less of O, and 0.002-0.1% of Al, with Fe and inevitable impurities constituting the remainder, and is characterized in that: after reheating to a temperature of 750°C or higher, the steel pipe is subjected to a quenching treatment two or more times for cooling to a temperature of 100°C or less at a cooling speed of air cooling or faster; the last quenching treatment of the quenching treatments is performed at a temperature equal to or greater than the precipitation temperature of the χ-phase and M23C6; and a tempering treatment is performed at a temperature of 700°C or less.
