<p>A table game tournament system (400) includes player terminals (470), electronic gaming tables (460) and a remote server. Each of the player terminals (470) is provided with an outer housing (101), a controller, input and output components and an interface for communicating with other similar table game tournament systems (400). The remote server provides tournament information to the player terminals (470). The tournament information includes whether one of the players qualifies for the next tournament round and who is the most serious opponent to the player. The player terminals (470) also facilitate playing asynchronous and individually paced tournament games, switching between different table game tournament systems (400) on demand and playing other non-tournament table games simultaneously with the table game tournament systems (400). Portable computing devices (440) can be used as the player terminals (470) to play games in actual or play-along modes.</p> |
