摘要
#CMT# #/CMT# Manufacturing phosphor ceramic (1) comprising a matrix material (2) and at least one doping element (3), comprises coating the doping element on the surface of the matrix material, and distributing the doping element within the matrix material using a thermal process step. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for: (1) the phosphor ceramic produced by the above method, comprising inhomogeneous distribution of the doping element; and (2) a light-emitting device comprising the above phosphor ceramic. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The phosphor ceramic is useful as a wavelength converter in light-emitting devices (claimed). #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic representation of the phosphor ceramic. 1 : Phosphor ceramic 2 : Matrix material 3 : Doping element #CMT#INORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The doping element comprises compounds comprising rare earth metals. The matrix material comprises a metal oxide, metal nitride or a metal oxynitride. #CMT#INSTRUMENTATION AND TESTING : #/CMT# Preferred Method: The doping element is applied on the surface of the matrix material in an inhomogeneous manner. The doping element is applied on the surface of the matrix material after molding, debinding and/or sintering. The thermal process step is carried out at a temperature of 800-1800[deg] C for 5 minutes-5 hours. At least two different doping elements are applied on different surfaces of the matrix material. The matrix material comprises a doping element and a further doping element which is applied on the surface of the matrix material and distributed within the matrix material using the thermal process step. The doping element is applied on the surface of the matrix material by spraying, printing, screen printing, sedimenting, laminating, thick- and thin coating, hot pressing, field assisted sintering method, spark plasma sintering, flash sintering or aerosol deposition. The doping element is applied on the surface of the matrix material together with at least one matrix material component. Preferred Components: The phosphor ceramic comprises a doping element with homogeneous distribution and a doping element with inhomogeneous distribution. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# No suitable example given.
