PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alerts for objects left in a vehicle.SOLUTION: A method includes identifying, via an in-vehicle computing system 200 of a vehicle, presence of a mobile device 220; and providing an alert in response to a user exiting the vehicle when the mobile device 220 is still located in the vehicle. The alert is provided in response to whether or not the vehicle is shut down. The in-vehicle computing system 200 was previously connected with the mobile device 220 and/or connected with the mobile device 220 in response to the vehicle shut down.
