<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack shaft supporting structure capable of suppressing striking sound or vibrations at edge knocking.SOLUTION: A rack shaft supporting structure has a supporting hole 23 for slidably supporting a part of a rack guide 19 in an orthogonal direction V1 orthogonal to an axial direction Z1 of a rack shaft 8, and for example, is equipped with a rack guide supporting member 24 supported by a housing. The rack guide supporting member 24 supports elastic bodies 25 and 26. On a bottom surface 16a of an axial direction groove 16 of the rack shaft 8 includes a first area including a first axial direction end 51, a second area including a second axial direction end 52, and an intermediate area interposed between the first area and the second area, and avoiding contact with the elastic bodies 25 and 26. In the first area and the second area, angular protrusions 70 and 80 compressing the elastic bodies 25 and 26 in the orthogonal direction V1 are provided.</p> |
