The present invention relates to an apparatus for inspecting the defect of a canopy seal weld on a CRDM nozzle of a reactor head, which includes: a track, a guide rail, a moving unit, a connection member, and an eddy current probe. The track is installed on the outer circumferential surface of a control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) nozzle of a reactor head. The guide rail is formed along the outer circumference of the track. The moving unit is installed on the guide rail and moves along the guide rail. The connection member is installed at the moving unit, is extended at one end towards a canopy seal weld on the CRDM nozzle, and is equipped with a probe mount combined with the one end. The eddy current probe is installed on the probe mount, and inspects the defect of the canopy seal weld on the CRDM nozzle by: generating a first magnetic field towards the canopy seal weld; enabling a second magnetic field to be formed at the canopy seal weld due to the first magnetic field; and generating an eddy current in the canopy seal weld through the formed second magnetic field. The present invention can automatically inspect the defect of the canopy seal weld while moving the eddy current probe along the track installed on the outer circumferential surface of the CRDM nozzle of the reactor head, and can detect fine cracks generated in the canopy seal weld on the CRDM nozzle, thereby fundamentally preventing the leakage of reactor coolant. In addition, the present invention can significantly reduce the amount of radiation exposure to an operator, thereby securing industrial safety. |
