PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that since a light absorption layer has, with a graphene alone, a very low light absorption rate of several %, it cannot effectively acquire light information as an electromagnetic wave detector.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic wave detector, for converting incident light into an electrical signal and detecting an electromagnetic wave, includes a flat metal layer formed on a support substrate, an intermediate layer formed on the metal layer, a graphene layer formed on the intermediate layer, an isolated metal cyclically formed on the graphene layer, and an electrode disposed so as to face both sides of the isolated metal. A prescribed wavelength, out of the incident light, in which a surface plasmon occurs, is determined by a size of the planar shape of the isolated metal, and a change of electrical signal occurring in the graphene layer is detected by absorbing light of the prescribed wavelength. |
