Included are: an input unit to which a captured image output obtained by shooting is input; a brightness detection unit for detecting, from the captured image output inputted thereto, the brightness of the shot subject; a stabilized brightness calculation unit for calculating, on the basis of the change of the subject brightness detected by the brightness detection unit, a stabilized brightness to be obtained by modifying the temporal change of the subject brightness to a gentler temporal change; and a display brightness control unit for controlling the brightness of a displayed image, particularly for controlling, in accordance with the calculated stabilized brightness, a speed, at which the brightness change of the displayed image follows the subject brightness change, such that the change duration of the brightness of the displayed image is longer than the change duration of the subject brightness. |
