The present invention provides an easily manufactured and inexpensive power switchgear insulation support excellent in mechanical strength and insulation performance. The power switchgear insulation support (3) of the present invention supports the main body portion of a power switchgear in an insulating manner in the atmosphere, said power switchgear being disposed between a power generator and a main transformer. The power switchgear insulation support (3) comprises: a columnar core portion (7) formed of only a resin material; an outer cover portion (8) formed of only a rubber material, mounted around the outer circumference of the core portion (7), and having a plurality of projections (8a); an end metal fitting (6a) attached to an end of the core portion (7) and also attached to the main body portion of the power switchgear; and another end metal fitting (6b) attached to the other end of the core portion (7) and also installed on the ground contact surface.
