<p>To unlock a rotor (7) from a state wherein the rotor (7) is locked in an intermediate position with an advance side restriction lock pin (10) and a retard side restriction lock pin (11) engaging with an advance side engagement hole (13) and a retard side engagement hole (14), respectively, an ECU (60) first disengages the retard side restriction lock pin (11) by providing torque in the advance direction to the rotor (7) so that the advance side restriction lock pin (10) is pressed against an advance side circumferential face (13a) of the advance side engagement hole (13) and applying oil pressure to the advance side engagement hole (13) and the retard side engagement hole (14), and secondly separates and disengages the advance side restriction lock pin (10) from the advance side circumferential face (13a) by providing torque in the retard direction to the rotor (7).</p> |
