The present invention relates to a system and a method for detecting a root sequence index collision, which allow a worker to rapidly check and handle the root sequence index collision by enabling efficient detection of the root sequence index collision, which has been carried out manually by the worker and consequently caused degradation of service quality due to tardy checking and handling of the collision, thereby minimizing the degradation of network quality and stable operation of a system. The method for detecting a root sequence index collision according to the present invention comprises the steps of: collecting neighbor relation information about multiple cells; checking whether there exist a cell using the same root sequence index as a reference cell among cells in neighbor relation with the reference cell that is one cell among the multiple cells recorded on the neighboring relation information; and extracting the cell detected in the step of checking whether there exist the cell and providing information on the extracted cell to a user.
