<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not the use of a storage medium is authorized to restrict the use of an unauthorized storage medium, and to determine whether or not electronic equipment such as a PC in which a storage medium is handled is equipment whose use is authorized to restrict the use of the storage medium about unauthorized electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: A management server includes: a user management DB for storing electronic equipment management information unique to electronic equipment which a user is authorized to use in association with user ID unique to the user; and an equipment management DB for storing the unique identification information of an available storage medium in association with the electronic equipment management information unique to each of a plurality of electronic equipment. The medium management system includes: processing means for, when the user uses certain electronic equipment, determining whether or not the user is authorized to use the electronic equipment by referring to the user management DB about the user ID read by a user ID reader; and processing means for determining whether to authorize the user to use the storage medium in the electronic equipment by referring to the equipment management DB about IC tag information read by the IC tag reader of the electronic equipment which the user is trying to use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
