<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal utilizing an alarm function for preventing accidents and troubles regardless of a vehicle that a user gets on, and also to provide an alarming method and a program. <P>SOLUTION: When the portable terminal 1 starts an alarm mode, a determination part 14 calculates a physical quantity related to the position of the portable terminal 1 on the basis of positioning information received by a GPS reception part 13, compares the calculated physical quantity with a predetermined threshold stored in a storage part 12, and determines whether to issue an alarm. For instance, as a typical physical quantity, there are a speed and a moving distance.
