[Also in Division B8] An apparatus for collecting, binding and removing rolled material in the form of wire or strip comprises a conveyer movable step-by-step past stations at which the collection, binding or removal of the rolled material takes place, the collection equipment comprising a winding mandrel 2 and a bipartite shell 4b concentric therewith and of the same length as the mandrel, the shell halves being adapted to be folded apart to release the finished coil of rolled material. The folding apart may be performed by hydraulic cylinders or by known electromagnetic means 5. The conveyer may be an endless chain conveyer, Fig. 1 and Fig. 4 (not shown), or a turntable, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). |
