摘要 The present invention relates to a cathode active material comprising lithium transition metal phosphate particles, wherein the lithium transition metal phosphate particles include first secondary particles formed by the aggregation of two or more first primary particles, and second secondary particles formed by the aggregation of two or more second primary particles inside the first secondary particles; and to a manufacturing method thereof. The cathode active material according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises first and second primary particles having different average diameters from each other, thereby minimizing the separation of a cathode active material from a cathode current collector and further improving the performance characteristics of a secondary battery such as high output characteristics and an increase in available capacity. In addition, since the secondary particles collapse and break by rolling due to the porous inside of the first secondary particles during application to a cathode, a spring back phenomenon is reduced, thereby further improving adhesion and processability.
