Provided are a detection system for a foreign material of a component surface and a removal method therefor using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the detection system for a foreign material of a component surface detects a foreign material on a surface of a flat component which is conveyed to a foreign material detection station by a conveyor. The detection system for a foreign material of a component surface includes: an incident light source unit arranged in the upper portion of the conveyor and irradiating incident light at a 15° angle or less to a surface of the component conveyed to the foreign material detection station; an image capturing unit arranged in the upper portion of the conveyor to detect reflected light of the incident light reflected from the surface of the component at a 10-50° angle based on a virtual vertical line of the conveyor so as to capture; and an foreign material detection unit analyzing an amount of light of an image obtained by the image capturing unit to detect the foreign material of the component.
