The present invention relates to a laundry treating apparatus and a method for controlling the same. According to the present invention, the method of controlling the laundry treating apparatus comprises a drying step and a motion executing step. The drying step includes a circulation process of resupplying air discharged from a turbo into the turbo, an exhausting process of exhausting a part of the air supplied into the turbo to the outside of the turbo, and a heating process of heating the air supplied into the turbo. In the motion executing step, a drum, which is rotatably provided inside the turbo to store laundry, is rotated in a first motion while the drying process is performed. |
