<p>The present invention relates to machinery used for spreading a liquid on land. In particular the invention provides a new device for attaching a splash plate unit to spreading equipment comprising a mounting plate; a backing plate; linkage arms; and a lever mechanism. The advantage of the invention is that it enables a splash plate unit to be quickly and easily opened to clear blockages with the minimum of operator effort. When the user rotates the operating lever, the device simultaneously unlocks and opens so that blockages can be cleared. When the lever is fully rotated the device locks in the open position. When the user rotates the operating lever in the opposite direction, the device closes and locks shut by means of an over centre lock. <Figure 2></p> |
