The present invention relates to a battery protection system and to a battery protection method using the same. The present invention includes at least one battery which is connected to a first and a second cell in parallel; a first line which is connected to the first battery cell and an anode of the second battery cell; a second line which is connected to the first battery cell and the cathode of the second battery cell; a third line which is connected to the anode of the battery and a protection module; a fourth line which is connected to the cathode of the battery and the protection module; and the protection module which measures at least one battery voltage and performs a protection operation to prevent at least one battery from being charged or discharged. The protection module performs the protection operation by using a first voltage reduction by at least one measured battery voltage and the first line, a second voltage reduction by the second line, a third voltage reduction by the third line, and a fourth voltage reduction by the fourth line.
