In an antenna radiation lobe scanning system, the antenna is formed of an array of elementary antennµ 1.1, 1.2 ... p.q., each of which has a phase adjuster 1.1.1, 1.1.2 ... 1.p.q in the associated feeder 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3 ... 2.p.q. Each adjuster provides an incremental phase charge in response to a programme controlled computer, 3, to effect the required lobe positioning. The incremental phase charges do not all give the required lobe direction accurately and an error correction signal is supplied to the computer to effect corrective adjustment of a specific phase adjuster. The correction signal is stored in the memory, 4, and both the memory and the computer are subjected to the same programming signal 30, 40. Secondary lobes in the radiation pattern are suppressed. |
