<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of accurately setting rising and falling where the occurrence of the abnormal sound and vibration due to the sudden change of a weak field current command value is within a permissible range. <P>SOLUTION: A time differential value in a rising section until reaching a weak field current command value Id<SP POS="POST">*</SP>from a reference value 0 at time point t1 is set to a value larger than that in a falling section until reaching the reference value 0 from the weak field current command value Id<SP POS="POST">*</SP>at time point t2. Thus, in the rising section at the time point t1, the occurrence of the effect of weak field control is in time in a case or the like where steering is executed suddenly to a high speed while suppressing the occurrence of abnormal sound or vibration by reducing torque fluctuation.
