The present invention relates to an organic electroluminescent device capable of improving the spreading of ink in forming an organic layer using a soluble process to thereby improve light emission uniformity of pixels, and to a method for manufacturing the same. The organic electroluminescent device comprises a thin film transistor which is disposed on a substrate; a first electrode which is formed in each pixel on the thin film transistor; a first pixel defining film which is formed to cover an edge portion of the first electrode; a second pixel defining film which is formed on the first pixel defining film; an organic layer which is formed on the first electrode; and a second electrode which is formed on the organic layer.
