The present invention relates to a method for producing hydrogen using a strain, which comprises a step of culturing a chlorella vulgaris YSL001 KCTC12144BP strain, and can produce hydrogen in a condition of less than or equal to 22% oxygen. A hydrogenase HydA in the strain can be active in high concentration oxygen. After exposed to more than or equal to 21% O_2 for 4-48 hours, the hydrogenase can be active when substituted to constant oxygen condition (<15% O_2) so that the hydrogenase has excellent oxygen resistance. Accordingly, the present invention can provide methods for solving environmental problems of the greenhouse effect and alternative energy.
