Disclosed is a method of tracking a maximum power point of a photovoltaic power generating system. The method according to the present invention comprises: setting an initial reference voltage corresponding to a predetermined ratio of an open voltage of a photovoltaic power generating array and a predetermined power variation amount; receiving an output voltage and an output current from the photovoltaic power generating array to track a maximum power point using a variable inspection; and setting a disturbance to the open voltage to a predetermined ratio to track the maximum power point, when a variation of power outputted to a load is greater than the set power variation amount.
