<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface modifier capable of forming a thin film resistant to peeling from a substrate even in the case of make contact with water and having desired properties such as hydrophilicity and water repellency. <P>SOLUTION: The surface modifier includes a (meth)acrylic polymer having a repeating unit expressed by formula (I) (in the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or methyl; and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>is a hydrophilic group, hydrophobic group, cationic group or anionic group) and an alkoxysilyl group expressed by formula (II) (in the formula, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>are each independently 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy provided that at least one of R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>is 1-4C alkoxy; and R<SP POS="POST">6</SP>is 1-12C alkylene) on at least one terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
