#CMT# #/CMT# The probe has an outer pipe (1) and a probe foot (2) arranged at a lower end of an outer pipe for sealing an inner hollow space (40) of the probe. The probe foot is pressed into and/or engraved into earth (12), and is slidably connected with the outer pipe in the axial direction of outer pipe. The outer diameter (D) of the foot is greater than that the diameter of the outer pipe. An inner pipe runs inside the outer pipe. Inner space of the inner pipe and an intermediate space between the inner and outer pipes form conduits for a heat transfer medium. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for insertion of a probe into the earth. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Probe for receiving thermal energy from earth and/or delivering thermal energy to the earth. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The probe foot is slidably connected with the outer pipe in the axial direction of outer pipe, thus avoiding the transfer of any high pressure affecting the foot when bringing the probe into the earth due to the decoupling of the foot and outer pipe, and hence maintaining the stability requirements small by the outer pipe.
