<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further stably measure a distance to a peripheral object even when occurring such a situation that a distance between a mobile body mounted with a distance measuring device and an object (an object to be measured) in the periphery of the mobile body is momentarily changed during measuring the distance. <P>SOLUTION: The distance measuring device projects light outwards a vehicle MM by temporally modulating pulse light with a light-emitting area having a width vertically and extending laterally, captures an image of the projected pulse light located within a preset imaging region, and extracts the pulse light by a synchronous detection from the captured image. The distance measuring device detects an edge of the upper end of the extracted pulse light so as to calculate a distance between the detected edge and the vehicle MM. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
